Nintendo eShop finally arrives in Singapore with Switch Online from S.90

Nintendo’s eShop has finally arrived in Singapore (as well as for Malaysia and Thailand). As reported earlier, Nintendo’s digital storefront opening also coincides with the launch of its online service, Switch Online.

Switch Online tiers

Breakdown of the different Switch Online subscription tiers.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the different subscription tiers, including the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, which starts from as little as S$4.90 per month and all the way up to S$119.90 for a 12 months Family Membership that is valid for up to eight Nintendo Accounts. For my money’s worth, the 12 months Individual Membership for the the Switch Online + Expansion at $69.90 is probably the most enticing. This gives you full access to the Nintendo Classics library of games, as well as online play for the excellent Mario Kart World game (read our review).

Seasoned Nintendo Switch gamers would by now know how to switch their “country” eShop, but fret not even if you don’t. It’s really easy; click here to access your Nintendo Account and select “Singapore” under the “Country/region of residence” tab. It’s also worth noting that you can still update downloaded games purchased from other regions after the swap.

I also also want to point out that publishers like Square Enix are also running time-limited sales to celebrate the launch of the eShop in the South-East Asian countries, with titles like Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and Octopath Traveller II going at a discount of anywhere between 35-60%. If you have been holding out for deals for these games, now’s a great time to grab them.
