3 Years After Nika, One Piece Creator Oda Reveals Another God Of The World

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

One Piece is currently in its final stretch, and fans know very well that this is the most important part of the whole story. Eiichiro Oda has been itching to draw this part of One Piece for years now, and it’s finally here. It is here that Oda will reveal the biggest mysteries of the One Piece world, as well as the strongest characters that exist in it. Oda will even go on to reveal more Gods of the One Piece world, and it seems that he’s already done that in Elbaf.

3 years ago, Oda went on to reveal Sun God Nika in One Piece, and fans know very well that Nika was the very first god to make an appearance in Oda’s story. First teased in Skypiea, the Sun God has now become a very important part of the story. But, now, in Elbaf, an even more dangerous God looms as a massive threat, and this God is none other than Imu themself. Oda officially confirmed Imu to be a God, not just in the sense that they’re a Celestial Dragon who considers themselves a God, but also because they truly hold the power of a God.

Oda Has Finally Revealed Imu’s God Power In One Piece’s Elbaf Arc

Imu is one of the most crucial characters in One Piece’s Elbaf arc, and finally, Oda has revealed their powers here. When the Holy Knights were sent to Elbaf, not many fans expected Imu to show up and add to the problems of the Straw Hats as well. But, that’s precisely what’s happened. Imu took over Gunko’s body and channeled the power of God through her.

Allow Mu to show thee the dominance of a God! — Saint Imu Nerona, One Piece

Imu’s power is quite simple. They offer contracts to certain individuals, and brand them with their own seal, such as the mark for the Abyss. They then make them permanent slaves, and can even take over their bodies. With other powers such as Domi Reversi, Imu can turn any enemy into a slave, and on top of that, make them stronger, with an undying body. Imu describes this to be the “power of God,” and regardless of whether it comes from a Devil Fruit or not, it is truly a Godly power that they will continue to wield.

Imu Can Use An Army Of Slaves

On God Valley, fans saw Imu making use of the power of God quite well. They turned the entirety of the Davy Clan into a slave army, and then, got even Rocks D. Xebec. On Elbaf, Imu has done something similar. Almost all the Giants of Elbaf have become their slaves due to Domi Reversi, and this power is nothing short of godly. Imu’s power can only be countered by other Gods, such as Nika. Luffy is a direct counter to Imu’s darkness as he’s the Warrior of Liberation and the God of the Sun.

More Gods Could Be Revealed In The Final Saga

While Luffy and Imu’s God powers are quite clear for the fans to see, there are also other Gods that exist in the One Piece world. For one, Oda himself introduced the fans to the Earth God, Rain God, Sea God, and even the Forest God long ago. These Gods were also referenced in the Elbaf arc through the Harley and the Adam Tree Mural carved by giants long dead.

As One Piece’s Final Saga continues, Oda will slowly but surely uncover these mysteries and reveal to the fans who all these Gods are, and what role they will go on to play in the future. Things will only get more heated from here onwards, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what mysteries Oda has in store for them.

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece will be on break next week. One Piece Chapter 1166 will be out in two weeks. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
