Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Be Making a Comeback

Red Dead Redemption 2 could still see a comeback with an enhanced version, even after Rockstar’s recent Red Dead Redemption announcements. Rockstar has made multiple announcements recently regarding Red Dead Redemption, but a popular insider says that news about Red Dead Redemption 2 could still be on the horizon.

On December 2, Red Dead Redemption will be available on multiple platforms, with enhanced image quality, HDR support, up to 4K resolution, and will run at 60 FPS. The game will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, which will support the system’s mouse controls, as well as DLSS and HDR. Even Netflix is getting in on the action, bringing the game to its streaming games service, allowing the title to be played on mobile platforms for the first time.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Still Receive Current-Generation Upgrades

Fans of the series have been waiting for the same current-gen upgrades to Red Dead Redemption 2, thanks to a previous leak from well-known insider NateTheHate. A n X user told NateTheHate that they may want to reconsider their sources since Red Dead Redemption received the console upgrades first. However, Nate responded that it doesn’t negate RDR2 from happening. He says that the current-gen upgrades would come “a few months after the Switch 2 launch.” Nate also pointed out that Rockstar has since delayed Grand Theft Auto 6 and that the company “does whatever they want.” He also states that timelines of releases can change.

NateTheHate previously confirmed Red Dead Redemption 2 current-gen rumors, stating that the game would not only receive upgrades for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but would also be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. At that point, however, he had no timeline. So, while he’s confident that the current-gen consoles will see the release, fans should still tread lightly when it comes to rumors of future releases till announced by Rockstar itself. Red Dead Redemption 2 is often considered one of the best open-world games, so fans are looking forward to being able to play it on the newest platforms with higher resolutions.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 77 million copies.

In the meantime, Red Dead Redemption fans will have an exciting December when the original game finds its way to the current-gen consoles. PlayStation recently announced that Red Dead Redemption will be available for PS Plus Extra and Premium when it launches on December 2. The release will also include the Undead Nightmare DLC for all platforms.
