Dispatch is set to release its final two episodes on November 12, but it’s clear that fans’ appetites for the superhero workplace comedy game are far from over. Many have been pleading and asking about Dispatch Season 2, and while nothing has been confirmed one way or another, Robert Robertson actor Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and AdHoc Studio devs have commented on the possibility.
Dispatch is a strong cinematic, interactive story game where players navigate a former hero through working with a team of supervillains turned heroes. Thus far, it doesn’t seem to have the most consequential choices in the formerly Telltale-led genre, but that’s overwritten by an even more compelling story. It’s no wonder fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Episodes 7 and 8, while also hoping for confirmation about its future.
Is Dispatch Getting a Season 2?
- Dispatch Episodes 7 and 8 release on November 12 at 9 am PT/12 pm ET
- Paul wants to do more seasons of Dispatch
- A Dispatch dev has said the studio will “at least think” about Season 2.
In a recent video, YouTuber MoistCr1TiKaL (who also plays Sonar in Dispatch) was talking about the game with Paul. Short and sweet, Paul said, “I hope that you and I get to do multiple seasons of this game. I hope we get to do more.” Paul’s willingness to reprise the role of Mecha Man, Robert’s superhero persona, may not be outright confirmation, but it shows that the interest is not entirely on the side of the players. And while it’s hard to say what Season 2 would tackle, it’s clear that Dispatch has plenty of potential as an IP—not just a one-off game.
Meanwhile, AdHoc Studio co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Pierre Shorette also commented on Dispatch Season 2 during SkillUp’s The Friends Per Second Podcast. Just as short and sweet, the dev remarked, “We’re going to have to at least think about Season 2.” It’s a bit cheeky, but understandably, the developer wouldn’t want to drum up unnecessary hype or say anything that sounds too much like a confirmation. It’s uncertain how long Dispatch Season 2 would take to come together, but hopefully, the success of Dispatch so far speaks for itself.
Paul’s willingness to return as Robertson also raises an important question that fans will know the answer to soon: how does Dispatch Season 1 end? Since the very first episode, it’s been clear that returning to the frontlines as Mecha Man or remaining the leader of the Z-Team is one of his central conflicts. Perhaps the Z-Team can become this Mecha Man’s Brave Brigade in the long run, but either way, it’s clear the anticipation is high and Dispatch has everyone reporting in for SDN.
