The newest entry in the long-running monster-catching franchise has already proven to be a massive success for Game Freak and The Pokemon Company, racking up millions of sales in its first three weeks. The Pokemon Company confirmed that Pokemon Legends Z-A sold nearly 6 million copies during its first week, with 5.8 million physical and digital units sold. Now, the game’s first major expansion is already on the way.
Ahead of the official launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, The Pokemon Company confirmed the first DLC expansion for the newest Pokemon game. “Mega Dimension” is set to introduce several new Mega Pokemon to the game, including the brand-new Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y as two of the spotlight Mega Evolutions. The Pokemon Company shared more information about the DLC’s story earlier this week as well, teasing new character Ansha and Mythical Pokemon Hoopa. Fans are now set to learn even more about Mega Dimension soon.
Pokemon Legends Z-A Teases More Mega Dimension News
Pokemon Legends: Z-A officially teased more information coming about the Mega Dimension DLC through the game’s official social media channels. The teaser shows the new Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur on the left referencing this week’s announcement, while confirming more news about the DLC will be coming on November 19. While the post doesn’t directly state what will be revealed, the use of the Mega Evolution symbol and the inclusion of the new Megas could suggest that more Mega Pokemon will be revealed in the next announcement. Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s new Mega Dimension story content is scheduled to launch on December 10.
The Mega Evolution DLC is set to bring a plethora of new content to Pokemon Legends: Z-A alongside its touted new story. The Pokemon Company teased numerous Pokemon species returning in Mega Dimension during this week’s trailer, showing off fan-favorite creatures like Golisopod, Corviknight, and Golurk. The trailer also hinted at several regional forms appearing in the DLC, including Galarian Meowth, Alolan Marowak, and Mr. Rime. Fans buying Mega Dimension have even already gotten some in-game goodies, with the exclusive Holo-X and Holo-Y outfits available.
While fans wait for the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s DLC story content, The Pokemon Company is looking to give fans plenty to do. Pokemon Legends: Z-A recently launched Season 2 of its Ranked Battles league, adding another new Mega Stone with fans able to pick up Delphoxite as a reward. The new Ranked season will also feature some new Pokemon thrown into the competitive mix, with players able to use both Xerneas and Yveltal for the first time in Ranked matches. Pokemon Legends: Z-A should have lots coming to keep players engaged throughout the next few months.
