A woman was filmed arguing with a male youth on an MRT train over allegations that he had refused to give up his seat.
The Instagram video, posted by xmmsnxdds on Wednesday (Nov 4), shows the woman scolding the youth as she sits next to him on the priority seat.
The pair can be seen quarrelling on the train towards Clementi on the East-West Line, although it is unclear when the incident happened.
While both are already seated when the video begins, they seem to be in the midst of a heated dispute over the woman’s age.
“Mine is a senior card, what are you talking about?” the woman says, pulling a Senior Citizen Concession Card, which is issued to Singapore citizens aged 60 and above, from her bag and waving it in front of the youth’s face. “See!”
Though his words are indistinct, the youth appears to question her age, prompting an agitated response.
“Why do I need to tell you my age, idiot?” she questions indignantly, before telling him to “check the website” and repeatedly urging him to “shut up” as he persistently responds.
