“Perhaps the shared language has always been humanity,” she wrote.

The foreign worker also told them that he could not wait to go back to India for a month in January.

He added that he could not describe the “agony” and the “heartbreak” he will inevitably face when he has to leave for work in Singapore again.

“I miss many moments of my son growing up. It’s not easy,” said the worker.

One Instagram user shared their personal experience working alongside migrant workers, saying how they often offer drinks and remind the user to “hydrate” despite themselves bracing through the heat.

Another user commented: “Only those who have been through hard times and have gone through ups and downs will understand how you were feeling.”
