Singapore Fields Israeli SIGMA 155 SPH and Mystery Precision Land Shooter, Preparing Even for Tank-Backed Amphibious Assault on 746 sq km

SIGMA 155 SPH will replace existing tracked 155mm SSPH-1 Primus howitzers in Singapore Army (available in quantity of 54 units), created on basis of American M109 in early 2000s.

Singapore became first export user of SIGMA 155 SPH, under $106 million contract concluded with Elbit Systems in 2021. Israeli Army started using SIGMA 155, known under local designation Roem, only in 2026, during fighting against Hezbollah. At same time Israeli media claimed export variant of SIGMA 155 would supposedly have firing range up to 80 kilometers.

Separately interesting is Precision Land Shooter element, because almost nothing is known about this system. There is only assumption it is local Singaporean development intended to use Spike NLOS guided missiles and drones, with no clear images provided (therefore image had to be enhanced using artificial intelligence).

Considering known characteristics of mentioned SIGMA 155 and Precision Land Shooter, and also Singapore’s geographical position, one can entirely reach conclusion that country’s army is preparing even for repelling possible enemy amphibious assault with tanks.
