Grab suspends driver who watched TikTok during 21-min ride, apologises for Stomper’s distress

“I complained to Grab and all I was told was that he got a warning. We need better regulations for drivers to keep our roads safe – we missed five accidents in that one ride.”

In response to a Stomp query, a Grab spokesperson said on Nov 4: “The safety of our Grab community is one of our top priorities, and we sincerely apologise for the distress this passenger experienced.”

The spokesperson said Grab has a zero-tolerance policy for actions that violate its Code of Conduct, adding: “We have taken immediate action by suspending the driver-partner and issuing a full refund to the passenger.

“We want to assure all our users that this is not reflective of the vast majority of our driver-partners, and we will continue to enforce strict adherence to our Code of Conduct, including permanent removal from the platform for serious and repeated breaches.”
