We’re headed toward the end of 2026, and right on cue, it’s time for the third big Steam sale of the year. The Steam Autumn Sale runs October 1-7, and as you’d expect in a month with tempting pumpkin-spice lattes, this is a dangerous time for your wallet. We’re expecting the usual selection of discounts across games, bundle deals, and a chance to stock up on cheap downloadable content, plus a few hidden gems to help grow our backlogs.
As a reminder, the Steam Summer Sale will be followed by several more events throughout the rest of 2026. This month, you can look forward to Cooking Fest (October 12-19), Next Fest (October 19-26), and Steam Scream V Fest (October 26 – November 2). November has a single event with Auto-Battler RPG Fest, and the Steam Winter Sale will land in December. After the 2026 season is done, you’ll have to wait until March 2027 for the Steam Spring Sale. You can check out the list of upcoming events and dates through our Steam sales hub.

One of the few games I’ve consistently played for years and will likely play as long as I live, Rez Infinite is a euphoric experience with an all-time great soundtrack and fun on-rails shooter gameplay that can be as chill or intense as you want. — Chris Pereira
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
- Sale price: $56 ($51 on Fanatical for a Steam key; normally $70)
Hideo Kojima’s post-apocalyptic courier game is a gorgeous trek across an Australian wasteland and undoubtedly one of the weirdest entries in his eclectic catalogue. — Darryn Bonthuys
Tactical Breach Wizards

Drop the roguelite nature of Into the Breach and substitute a compelling story, hilarious dialogue, and the ability to routinely launch enemies out of windows to their doom, and you’ve got Tactical Breach Wizards. — Chris Pereira
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
- Sale price: $49 ($43.39 for a Steam key at Fanatical; normally $70)
Easily the best Batman game in over 10 years, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a goofy Caped Crusader adventure that’s also a sincere tribute to the legendary Gotham vigilante. — Darryn Bonthuys
Far Cry 6
- Sale price: $6 (normally $60)
It’s not the best Far Cry game ever made, but Far Cry 6 at a 90% discount is a pretty great deal for open-world shooting, exploration, and trying to survive being in the crosshairs of a dictator played by Giancarlo Esposito. — Darryn Bonthuys
Street Fighter 6
- Sale price: $16 (normally $40)
With a feature-film adaptation out next month, now is a great time to check out the best fighting game of the current PC and console generation, Street Fighter 6. — Darryn Bonthuys
Meccha Chameleon

One of the best friendslop experiences of 2026, Meccha Chameleon is the ultimate multiplayer hide-and-seek game and an absolute steal at its current price. — Darryn Bonthuys
Iron Nest: Heavy Turret Simulator
- Sale price: $15 (was $20)
Believe it or not, a brutal dieselpunk heavy-artillery game where you have to pull every lever and twist every dial to fire off devastating cannons is surprisingly fun! — Darryn Bonthuys
Tempest Rising
- Sale price: $20 (was $40)
Command & Conquer’s current hiatus from PC gaming remains excruciating, but for fans looking for a nostalgic reminder of the real-time strategy glory days, Tempest Rising is a fine substitute. — Darryn Bonthuys
Watch Dogs 2
- Sale price: $2.49 (was $50)
The first Watch Dogs was, mechanically, a very cool twist on the GTA formula with its grid-hacking gameplay and stealth. The story, however, was insultingly bad, and protagonist Aiden Pearce was barely even a character. Watch Dogs 2 fixes everything that made the first one disappointing, with a cast of relatable and entertaining characters, including new protagonist Marcus. — Gabe Gurwin
