Dune: Awakening is finally available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles, more than a year after it first launched on PC. But the console release is not simply the same game brought over to two more platforms.
Funcom has also rolled out a major update that adds a full single-player mode, optional PvP and a sizeable collection of gameplay changes across the console and PC versions.
The new single-player mode is arguably the new key-selling feature. Dune: Awakening was originally built as a multiplayer survival game, and that somewhat made the game less accessible for players who were more interested in exploring Arrakis and following its story.
This is not a separate or cut-down campaign either. According to Funcom, the entire game and all its existing content can now be played alone. PvP has also become completely optional, so those who want to experience Dune: Awakening as a PvE game can do so without worrying about another player ruining their game.
