If you’re looking for the tastiest Taiwanese cuisine that seamlessly blends tradition, refinement, and big bold flavours, Iru Den is definitely a restaurant you have to visit! Hidden behind a stunning colonial bungalow along Scotts Road, they’ve has been serving up some of the best Taiwanese dining for 9 years! Their 7 course dinner degustation menu ($158++) sources incredible ingredients straight from Taiwan, starting with an impressive trio of snacks: a crisp pear tart, a UFO oyster cake, and a sweet Carabinero toast. Before moving into the main progression, we opted for one of their signature add ons, the Salt Fried Chicken (+$29). Seasoned with five spice and topped with a generous scoop of caviar, it hits with the ultimate savory, crunchy kick! That was followed by their rich yet refreshing Cold Noodles, featuring delicate mee sua paired with mullet roe and uni. Next came a unique 10 Years Aged Radish Chai Por Brown Butter served with a warm Spring Onion Shio Pan, offering an insane umami depth with nutty, caramelized notes. The Sakura Ebi Egg Custard was another highlight, layered with Carabinero broth and doubanjiang for a silky texture with just the right amount of salty heat. After a refreshing Black Bean Tea Granita palate cleanser, we were served an Amadai with crispy, crackling skin and light, tender meat paired with an iconic Taiwanese three-cup sauce! The meat course featured plump, beautifully rendered Duck Breast balanced by sacha cabbage, golden pickles, and a tart plum jus. My personal highlight of the night, was their famous Lu Rou Fan Claypot (+$22). A decadent blend of pork belly, yam, taro rice, and crunchy pork lard cooked to smoky perfection! It was so good I couldn’t resist having two full bowls even after all those courses! We wrapped up the feast on a sweet, nostalgic note with Pickled Strawberry and Tang Hulu. If you love refined delicious Asian flavours and incredible claypot rice, this place is a dream come true! 📍 Iru Den, 27 Scotts Rd, Singapore 228222 #creatorsearchinsights #singaporerestaurants #sgfoodie #taiwanesefood #datenight
