A 57-year-old woman was jailed 10 months and fined $47,000 on Oct 31 for living on the earnings of two prostitutes and obstructing justice.

Between August 2023 and March 2025, Liu Zhengxiang ran a massage parlour called 168 Slimming Centre on the ground floor of an apartment building called The Midtown at Upper Serangoon Road, reported Shin Min Daily News.

The Singaporean also rented a two-bedroom unit on the same building, which she used as a brothel, and earned commissions amounting to at least $35,000 from two foreign prostitutes. One was Thai while the other was a Singapore permanent resident from China. Both are 41 years old.

The Thai woman came to Singapore to work as a prostitute in October 2024.

To get “clients”, Liu took photos of the Thai woman and used them to advertise her sexual services online. Liu received a monthly $350 fee and was responsible for scheduling clients. It was also agreed that she would take a 60 per cent commission.

From Oct 10, 2024, to Feb 11, 2025, Liu made at least $30,000 from the Thai woman.
