Wang, who has no children, is survived by his wife, who he married a decade ago, Shin Min reported.

When reporters from the Chinese publication visited his funeral, his wife was visibly distraught.

She was with her colleague, who told Shin Min that Wang was a salesperson but had lost his job recently and switched to doing delivery work instead.

The colleague said that they had a “good relationship” and spoke over the phone the same afternoon Wang died, only for the latter to become uncontactable in the evening.

Responding to Shin Min’s queries, a Grab spokesperson confirmed that Wang was its delivery partner.

“We are deeply saddened by this and extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends, mourning with them during this difficult time,” the spokesperson said.

Grab has since contacted Wang’s family to provide assistance and is also cooperating with investigations.
