Singapore’s broadband providers are increasingly selling 10Gbps broadband and Wi-Fi 7 router bundles, but SIMBA is taking a slightly different approach to getting that speed to your devices – with less clutter and complexity.
Its new Premium Huawei Wi-Fi 7 Mesh System Broadband Bundle builds Wi-Fi 7 directly into the 10Gbps Optical Network Router (ONR), so a single Huawei unit terminates the fibre and broadcasts the signal, eliminating the need for a separate router to interface with the network gateway terminal. This cuts down the hardware needed around the fibre point, a core focus of SIMBA’s solutioning with Huawei.
One router alone can’t usually blanket a whole flat with good coverage, though. The bundle adds two Huawei OptiXstar Wi-Fi 7 mesh routers, giving you three Wi-Fi 7 access points to work around the concrete walls and layouts that could otherwise “kill” the internet signal in deeper sections of most Singapore homes.
S$29.99 every 30 days for 10Gbps and three Wi-Fi 7 points
A two-year plan from SIMBA costs S$29.99 per 30 days, with SIMBA saying that this includes:
- The Wi-Fi 7 10Gbps ONR at S$699
- Two OptiXstar Wi-Fi 7 2.5Gbps mesh routers at S$598
- A home phone line at S$140
- Installation at S$50 and NetLink Trust service activation at S$61.04
That comes to S$1,548.04 of hardware and fees bundled into the plan.
The speed difference between the main 10G Wi-Fi 7 router and the two 2.5G OptiXstar mesh routers offered by SIMBA matters if you want to get closer to the full potential of a 10Gbps broadband connection.
