A woman who was found sitting dangerously on a 16th-floor HDB stairwell ledge was rescued and taken to hospital on Monday (Sept 14) night.
The 41-year-old was subsequently apprehended under Section 7(1) of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008, the police said in response to AsiaOne’s queries.
The woman was seen in the precarious position just after 9pm on Monday at Block 123B Rivervale Drive, reported Shin Min Daily News.
A resident living on the 17th floor, who gave her name as Feng Jingting (transliteration), told the Chinese paper that her son alerted her to the incident at about 11pm.
Feng, 63, said her neighbour saw the woman perched on the ledge. Police officers and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel were at the scene.
