A total of eight hawker centres across Singapore will close for between one and three days between Aug 30 and Sept 6 for cleaning.
Cleaning at hawker centres owned by the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment is conducted by National Environment Agency (NEA), while town councils are responsible for cleaning HDB hawker centres.
Such cleaning is conducted regularly so that Singaporeans can enjoy affordable food in a clean and hygienic environment, NEA said on its website.
