SINGAPORE – A man died in hospital after he was rescued unconscious from a canal in Bukit Timah on the evening of Aug 23.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, the police said that they received a call for assistance at Bukit Timah Canal at about 7.25pm that day.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a media reply that it was alerted to the water rescue incident near Wayang Satu Flyover at about 7.45pm.
When SCDF arrived, an unconscious person, identified by the police as a 57-year-old man, was seen floating in the canal.
