Apple has cut more than 200 positions across the Vision Pro and Siri teams.
According to Bloomberg, roughly half of the layoffs came from the Vision Pro division, where the company is reportedly winding down a team focused on developing games for its spatial computing headset.
The cuts also extend to the team behind Immersive Video, one of Vision Pro’s headline features that delivers 180-degree spatial video experiences.
Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to produce fewer in-house Immersive Video titles in the future, while encouraging third-party creators and production studios to build more content for the platform instead. That’s not surprising given these films cost a lot to produce and there aren’t that many active users.
