Pokémon Go’s “Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration” update is bringing back most (if not nearly all) of the costumed Pikachu we’ve seen throughout the years. The event runs from July 13-20, but the spawns will shift every few days with new Pikachu rotating in and out.
Below we list all the event bonuses for Pokémon Go‘s “Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration” event, including the spawns, and what the Pikachu look like.

Pokémon Go ‘Pikachu Celebration’ event Go Pass
This event features a Go Pass with 30 ranks (plus 30 additional bonus ranks). Notably, you can earn a bunch of costumed Pikachu from the pass just by playing the game. As usual, you can level up the pass by winning raids, hatching eggs, and catching Pokémon. You can also earn an additional 150 points per day by catching 10 Pikachu.
The notable Pikachu encounters from this pass are as follows:
- Rank 6: Flying/balloons
- Rank 12: Amethyst crown
- Rank 19: Meloetta hat
- Rank 23: Gracidea flower
- Rank 27: Shaymin scarf
- Rank 29: Pop star
- Rank 30: Rock star
Additionally, you’ll unlock the following bonuses at certain ranks:
- Rank 10: 2x candy for transferring Pokémon, and increased chance to get Candy XL for transferring Pokémon
- Rank 10 (deluxe): 3x candy for transferring Pokémon, and even greater increased chance to get Candy XL for transferring Pokémon
- Rank 20: 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon
- Rank 20 (deluxe): 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon
Pokémon Go ‘Pikachu Celebration’ event Field Research and rewards
Spinning a PokéStop during the event period may yield one of these tasks:
- Catch 10 Pikachu (Pikachu [Hilbert’s hat], Pikachu [Hilda’s hat], Pikachu [Nate’s visor], Pikachu [Rosa’s visor], Pikachu [Calem’s hat], or Pikachu [Serena’s hat] encounter)
- Catch 15 Pikachu (Pikachu [Shaymin scarf] encounter)
- Win 3 raids (Pikachu [varsity jacket], Pikachu [World Championships 2022], Pikachu [World Championships 2023], Pikachu [World Championships 2024] encounter)
Note that some of the rewards from Field Research are changing as the event continues.
