I love it when a bar serves up food that is as good as their drinks, and when it comes to Origin Bar, they deliver the best flavours with every sip and bite! Ranked No.60 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, their new menu plays on the idea of intersections of cultures, memories and ingredients! For the food, get the Chicharron ($12) for a super addictive crispy pork crackling paired with sinagang spice salt and green chilli, or the Dan Dan Dumpling ($18) for the iconic flavour of peanut and sesame sauce with minced pork dumplings! And when it comes to drinks, start with Respect The Martini ($27) combining Korean muscat grapes with sake and gin, and served overflowing so you’ll embrace the culture of bowing to take your first sip! For something that will play with your tastebuds, the Sense Of Belonging ($27) is an unexpectedly well balanced mix of lychee, sea salt and peaty scotch whisky! But as someone who loves smoky drinks, I’d definitely be back for the Scotch + Italic ($27) with a scotch base layered with Campari, Cherry and Rhubarb, and a nice play on the fonts with the same names!
