We remain in the era of remakes, and true to the times, Ubisoft has released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced, a ground-up remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag built in the studio’s modern Anvil engine.
For Singapore, it’s a notable release because the studio leading development is none other than Ubisoft Singapore. The local branch of the French developer has been intimately tied with the AC franchise since 2009, ultimately contributing on 13 games in the series and counting (Fun fact: Ubisoft Singapore worked on the original Black Flag’s ocean simulation).
In particular, Resynced presents a chance at redemption for the local Ubisoft division, after its previous pirate-themed game, 2024’s Skull and Bones, transformed into a misadventure following a notoriously rocky development process and critical reviews upon release.
