The back half of 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest few months for game releases in recent memory. The big one is Grand Theft Auto 6, which will finally drop on Nov. 19. To avoid that entire month, other games have moved into earlier months like October and September. Lords of the Fallen 2 will not be one of those games, as it has been delayed from a planned fall 2026 release.
Marek TymiĹ„ski, the CEO of developer CI Games, took to X to announce that Lords of the Fallen 2 is now set for a Q1 2027 release window. The reasoning is that the development team “has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience,” and that pushing the release will enable, “the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.” Of course, TymiĹ„ski also notes the delay will “strategically” position the game away from the pile-up of games already fighting for attention this fall. By moving Lords of the Fallen 2‘s release, TymiĹ„ski hopes the game will receive more attention.
Lords of the Fallen 2 is a sequel to the original 2023 title (not the 2014 game that was also titled Lords of the Fallen). Like its predecessor, Lords of the Fallen 2 is a Soulslike with a focus on tough combat. The game is set to be something of a stand-alone sequel, taking place 100 years after the original.

Development of Lords of the Fallen 2 hasn’t been without some level of controversy, as the game’s female armor designs have been seen as regressive by critics. CI Games calls the designs in question, which show female characters with little coverage and lots of bare skin, “provocative.”
