Toy Story 5 looks primed to become another huge hit for Pixar and Disney, after a lucrative preview period.
The animated sequel has notched up $17.5 million in domestic previews, Variety reported, besting music biopic Michael’s recent $12.6 million total to earn the year’s biggest preview performance to date (or, in other words, until next month’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day).
Industry analysts project Toy Story 5 to earn a further $150 million this weekend at the very least, significantly more than the $130 million raked in by Toy Story 4 over its opening few days, and all on top of a further $135 million expected from overseas.
