Iran has criticised FIFA and the US government for their treatment following an emotionally-charged 2-2 draw against New Zealand in their opening World Cup match in Los Angeles.

“After the game today they said to us: ‘You have to leave immediately.’ Whereas it’s very important for us to have recovery,” Iran’s head coach Amir Ghalenoei said.
