Matt Reeves Shares Set Photo

After years of waiting and one big delay, director Matt Reeves has confirmed The Batman Part 2 has officially commenced principal photography by posting the first image from the set.

The filmmakers behind the Robert Pattinson-led DC movie took to X/Twitter to share the news. It comes with a picture of a clapperboard featuring its bat symbol logo, with a blurry background showing what appears to be a person’s body lying on a table or slab in what looks a lot like a morgue.

Unlike the DCU’s Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, the first image from the set of The Batman Part 2 provides little in the way of identifiable information. Still, it’s a positive update as filming for the sequel takes off in London, and it will no doubt have fans spinning theories about who exactly is on that table.

“Who is that?” one fan questioned.

“I need to know who’s dead now,” another added.

Last week, Pattinson shared details about his process when it came to training for his return as Bruce Wayne. And just yesterday, Colin Farrell spilled the beans that his Penguin character will only show up for two scenes.

The Batman Part 2 is currently scheduled to premiere October 1, 2027. While you wait for any hard news about what is in store for this gritty version of the Caped Crusader, go learn why DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has warned fans not to expect the first DCU Batman movie for quite some time.
