Travelling the world without leaving Melbourne – Part 24/70: Singapore 🇸🇬 Some people may argue that Singaporean food is just a rip-off of Malaysian food. But it’s not. Yes, it has a lot of similarities but the slight differences in flavour profile makes it uniquely Singaporean. The cuisine is a unique mix of Indian, Chinese, and Malay cultures which created incredible flavours and dishes. One of my favourite is their Carrot Cake but it has no carrot in it. It’s actually stir-fried radish cake with eggs and a sweet dark soy sauce. The name is quite confusing but it got the name from a direct translation. I don’t care. I love this dish. And you can’t have Singaporean food without Hainanese Chicken Rice. Tender chicken with fragrant rice. Hard to go wrong. I’m travelling to Singapore later in the year so I would love to get some recos! 📍Singa Pura King of Hawkers . . . #melbournefoodie #melbournefood #melbourneeats #singaporefood #carrotcake
