Microsoft has unveiled a special-edition Xbox Series X console to mark the gaming brand’s 25th anniversary, and it might just be the closest thing yet to a modern recreation of the original Xbox’s iconic translucent green aesthetic.
Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition retains the same hardware specifications as the standard Xbox Series X, including 1TB of storage, but wraps it in a translucent OG Green shell inspired by the original “Launch Team Edition” Xbox console that launched in 2001.
The console also features a green-illuminated Xbox logo on the front when powered on, alongside a commemorative 25th Anniversary badge and several hidden design touches intended as nods to long-time Xbox fans.
