Gigabyte Aorus Master 16: Ryzen 9 & RTX 5090 gaming laptop

At Computex 2026, Gigabyte unveiled its flagship gaming laptop, the Aorus Master 16, and it’s packed with the latest best and whistles from AMD and NVIDIA.

The new Aorus Master 16 combines AMD’s latest and greatest Ryzen 9 9955HX3D mobile processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. The gaming system is also one of the first gaming laptops to pair AMD’s flagship mobile X3D processor with NVIDIA’s highest-end Blackwell-based mobile graphics, and Gigabyte also claims the laptop is the “slimmest gaming laptop” powered by the Ryzen 9 9950X3D at 19mm thick.

To keep such power components cooled, the Aorus Master 16 is equipped with an upgraded Windforce Infinity EX cooling system, which is rated to handle up to 230W of combined thermal dissipation to keep both the CPU and GPU running at their intended performance levels.

The headline component here is undoubtedly AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor. Built around AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, the chip features 16 cores and 32 threads, with boost clocks reaching up to 5.4GHz, and is pretty much the equivalent to the desktop Ryzen 9 9950X3D – except that it’s limited to a 55W TDP. The RTX 5090 Laptop GPU on the other hand, can operate at up to 175W graphics power. Gigabyte claims the system can deliver up to 1,824 AI TOPS for AI-assisted workloads and content creation applications.

For display, the laptop features a 16-inch WQXGA OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, DisplayHDR 1000 certification and full DCI-P3 colour coverage. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support are also included, which is fantastic news for both movie buffs and content creators.

Other notable specs include support for Wi-Fi 7, a 99Wh battery and Gigabyte’s GiMATE AI assistant, which can help manage system settings and performance profiles through natural language commands.

Availability and pricing

Gigabyte has yet to announce local pricing or availability for the Aorus Master 16, but sources have informed us a July release date is very likely.
