Xiaomi launches new front-load washer dryer and its first-ever over-ear headphones

Redmi Headphones Neo, Xiaomi’s first over-ear

Could anyone have guessed that there are still product categories for Xiaomi to explore? The brand launched its Redmi Headphones Neo, Xiaomi’s first-ever over-ear headphones.

Given its Redmi positioning, we can surmise it’s not on the same level as an AirPods Max (we’d love to see one). However, the Redmi Headphones Neo still packs many hard and soft features at a very affordable price.

At the headphones’ core are 40mm dynamic drivers with a titanium diaphragm responsible for bass, mids, and treble, and the personal audio gadget also has USB audio for wired listening, plus Hi-Res Audio certification.

Xiaomi also squeezed in 42dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with three adjustable levels and adaptive cancellation. It also packs a triple-microphone array for clearer voice calls and supports wind noise cancellation of up to 5m/s during phone conversations.

Another hard-to-believe USP is the Redmi Headphones Neo’s self-reported 72 hours of continuous playback (ANC off). A 10-minute charge grants 5 hours of playback, and it’s replete with wireless conveniences like Google Fast Pair, dual-device support, and audio sharing, and it works with the Xiaomi Earbuds app.

The Redmi Headphones Neo officially retails at S$65.90 in two colours: Obsidian Black and Sand White.

Xiaomi Watch S5 46mm

46 is the number of the universe for Xiaomi’s latest smartwatch. Xiaomi Watch S5 comes with a 46mm watch face and weighs just 46g, all within a 10.99mm profile.

To enhance its premium sheen, Xiaomi used a stainless steel middle frame with options for stainless steel, ceramic, and forged carbon bezels. Besides the usual straps, it now offers genuine leather options so you can swap them out to match the occasion.

Its 1.48-inch AMOLED display now has a 40% narrower bezel, higher 2,500-nits peak brightness, and can offer up to 21 days of battery life with light use.

In the tracking and monitoring arena, the Xiaomi Watch S5 (46mm) has a new Passion Mode that records cheering gestures using heart rate, calories burned, and cheer counts. Even with these metrics, we’re still unsure about the type of passion Xiaomi is referring to here.

Other wellness-tracking perks include over 150 sports modes, but this time it has an upgraded 4 LED + PD heart rate sensor, improved algorithms, upgraded dual-band, five-system GNSS, and new weekly and monthly reports for sleep and HRV tracking. Putting them together, the watch is now more accurate than before, metrics and location-wise.

Xiaomi Watch S5 46mm is available in Black, Silver, Cermaic Blue, and Jungle Green, starting from S$215.

Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro

The lightweight fitness tracker of Xiaomi has a 1.74-inch AMOLED display, 2,000-nits peak brightness, and a slim 9.7mm profile at just 21.6g. As the fitness-focused wearable of the two, it now packs an upgraded PPG module with updated algorithms, improving heart heart accuracy by up to 98.2%. Like the smartwatch, it too, supports up to 150 sports modes.

The added perk is Smart Band 10 Pro’s partnership with Clue, a period and cycle tracking app for women health management. Each purchase of the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro comes with three months of Clue subscription that offers fertility predictions, pregnancy, preimenopause tracking, and more.

The band also has notification synchronisation and simultaneous pairing with iPhones, so calls, messages, and alerts can go to both a Xiaomi smartphone and iPhone at the same time.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro retails at S$99.

Xiaomi Buds 6

Xiaomi’s flagship true wireless earbuds are getting an upgrade. The 11mm, triple-magnet dynamic drivers get 24k gold-plated diaphragm for 30% higher treble sensitivity, and its also tuned by the Harman Golden Ear Team for its Harman Master Mode and Harman AudioEFX post-processing suite for Android.

As a flagship audio product, it also has Qualcomm aptX Lossless support for high-fidelity wireless audio. Even its 3-mic AI noise reduction system for calls is integrated with its mesh acoustic structure to grant up to 95dB of background noise suppression and 12m/s of wind noise cancellation. All these is on top of ANC, with Balanced and Deep modes depending on your preferred listening experience.

A core perk is that Xiaomi Buds 6 is compatible with Xiaomi HyperOS, Apple’s Find My (device tracking), and Google’s Find Hub.
