In a post in the Facebook group Complaint Singapore on May 1, user Brad Lee shared a photo of the stall and accused the vendor of using “unethical sales tactics,” local outlet Independent Singapore reported.
Lee said he and his mother visited a durian stall at Block 113 Aljunied, where he asked the seller if he could open a durian to inspect it before purchasing. The seller allegedly agreed.
“First durian I opened was okay, ripe and soft. I told him I wanted two more,” Lee wrote.
Lee said he picked a different, smaller durian to open but the seller insisted on opening a larger one that he picked. “I was sceptical, but he reassured me it had more flesh,” Lee said.
