Who: Singapore actor Fir Rahman, 45, stars in Durrani – Perjuangan Lion Mum, a Malay spin-off of Mediacorp English drama series Lion Mums (2015 to 2021).
Now showing on Netflix, mewatch and Suria, the show sees Fir reprising his role as Reza Ali, the husband of the show’s titular character, lawyer Durrani Mazlan (played by Singapore actress Nurul Aini).
He was also among the ensemble cast of the recent stage adaptation of La Luna, the 2023 drama-comedy that was Singapore’s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 2025 Oscars. The theatre production was staged at Singtel Waterfront Theatre at Esplanade in mid-April and was part of the art centre’s Pesta Raya – Malay Festival of Arts 2026.
One of the most prominent actors in the home-grown Malay acting scene, Fir is also known for playing a prison officer in the award-winning local psychological drama Apprentice (2016). In 2017, he became the first Singapore actor to be nominated for an Asian Film Award for his role.
He is married to Ms Jannah Ismaeil, who works in corporate communications, and the couple have four children aged five to 13.
