Mindless fun for under 10 dollars
If you’ve got a terrible fear of a zombie apocalypse happening while on vacation, you should probably stay far away from the Dead Island series. However, if you’re looking for an excuse to jump into some zombie carnage, then you’re in luck: Dead Island 2 and all its DLC can be yours for just $7 on the PC storefront Steam.
In Dead Island 2, developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, a deadly zombie virus runs rampant across the city of Los Angeles. Anyone who gets bitten or scratched transforms into a brainless, flesh‑chomping zombie. It’s up to the player to discover the truth behind the deadly zombie outbreak while making hard choices in order to survive this new and cruel world.
A bloody and brutal co-op sandbox game, Dead Island 2 scratches a nostalgic itch for anyone looking for thrilling action and engaging combat. There’s witty banter and the typical zombie storyline fare, but the real fun to be had is in its gory gameplay and the chance to wade through hordes of zombies alongside a friend.
Several of Dead Island 2‘s 14 DLC options are cosmetic packs that change each character’s appearance. Better still, there are also weapon packs included. One of its most recent packs includes a sword and mace from another Deep Silver video game, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
According to an end-of-year financial report from Dambuster Studios, Dead Island 3 is set to release sometime in 2028. With that release date in mind, there’s never been a better (or cheaper) time to invest in the zombie franchise in preparation for Dead Island 3 than by beating zombies to a pulp in Dead Island 2.
