NYC | Send this to your friends 🇸🇬 Singapore Social just soft opened in East Village, bringing Southeast Asian comfort food to NYC — rooted in Singapore, but shaped by Indonesia & Malaysia, carrying a shared story of flavors, spices, and memories ✨ A lot of the ingredients are housemade (like the kaya and curly noodles) , and you can really taste the difference. What we tried: 🥪 Kaya Toast: Kicking things off with housemade coconut egg pandan jam on toast, layered with a cold slab of salted butter (has to be). Love the contrast between the crunchy, airy toast and the soft, creamy center — not too sweet, just heavenly 🍗 Roasted Chicken Rice: Start with the aromatic ginger chicken rice, then go in for the juicy, tender chicken. Alternate between the sauces to switch up each bite 😋 🍛 Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah: Start with the coconut rice, then mix everything together — fried egg, peanuts, anchovies, sambal, and spices — almost like bibimbap, so every bite hits 💣 The marinated fried chicken (I think it has turmeric & galangal) was so crispy… still thinking about it 💭 🍜 Bakmi Keriting: Bouncy, chewy housemade curly noodles coated in sesame oil, paired with shredded chicken, fried wontons, bok choy, and scallions. Feels especially comforting if you grew up eating noodles in Asia 😋 🌱 Prata with Dal: Flaky, pan-fried roti with lentil curry — simple, classic, and comforting. I can see why people have this for breakfast and with coffee or tea 🍧 Cendol: Classic shaved ice with coconut milk, pandan jelly, red beans, and gula jawa (palm sugar). A nice balance of savory and sweet, perfect for the summer ❄️ Overall, a spot that’s rooted in something personal — you can feel it in both the food and the space. Definitely worth checking out, and I’d come back to try more 👀 📍 15 Avenue A, New York, NY 🚇 Delancey St – Essex St // 2 Av #nyc #singaporesocial #eastvillage
