NHK has learned that arrangements are now being made for Japan’s Princess Aiko to make an official visit to Singapore later this year.
Sources related to the matter said the visit by the daughter of Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako is aimed at promoting bilateral friendship. The visit is being arranged for November.
This year, Japan and Singapore mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. The princess is expected to make a courtesy visit to the Singaporean president and attend ceremonies during the visit.
