Sony’s gaming sub-brand Inzone is bringing its first open-back headset, the H6 Air, to Singapore. Open-back designs aren’t that common in gaming headsets, which makes this one a bit more interesting than usual.
Instead of sealing you off, the H6 Air keeps its earcups open, which in theory gives you a wider and more natural soundstage. Sony says the new headphone isn’t about having “punchy and in-your-face audio” and more about recreating how a game is actually meant to sound as intended by game creators. By reducing internal reflections, the headset is supposed to deliver a more accurate sense of space, which could make a difference in games where positioning and environmental audio matter.
