Iranians rallied in Tehran on Apr. 8, pledging loyalty to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei after the U.S. and Iran agreed to a 2-week ceasefire, Reuters reported. The truce was forged right before the expiry of Trump’s ultimatum, in which he warned that “a whole civilization will die” if Iran does not comply. Now, Trump has agreed to suspend attacks on the condition that Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz. Iran later declared victory via state media, releasing a 10-point plan to be used as a framework for upcoming negotiations. The list includes conditions of mutual non-aggression, sanctions relief, and the withdrawal of U.S. military troops from the Middle East, among others. mothershipnews mothershipabroad mothershippolitics
