Featuring three games, all inspired by episodes of the show

Not only is a new season of Game Changer on the way, but so is a new way to experience its chaos and comedy — at your house. On Tuesday, Dropout CEO Sam Reich announced the company will be launching a Kickstarter next month for Game Changer: Home Edition.

Game Changer has been a flagship series for the streamer since it debuted in 2019. Each episode (save for a few “game samers”) features contestants playing a different game, with none of the participants knowing exactly what they’re walking into. True to the premise, what games Game Changer: Home Edition will include aren’t known at this time. In a series of posts on Bluesky, Reich told fans to follow the Kickstarter to find out what games they can expect to play (and terrorize their friends with). He also teased the games will be inspired by different episodes of the show.

Reich said the company could have launched a home game years ago, but it wanted to wait “to get it right.” He noted “this game ~format~ will allow for us to continue to evolve the game over time, making it something Dropout can continue to invest in.”

Dropout is using Kickstarter so that it can evolve the game over time due to backer feedback. “As you’ll see when we launch our Kickstarter on May 5, we’ve got very specific plans for involving all of you in finishing the game!” an answer on the game’s FAQ reads.

This isn’t the first time Dropout has made a game based on one of its shows via Kickstarter. It partnered with Wiggles 3D to make a board game version of Um, Actually, which is now available to purchase from Dropout’s store. It’s not yet known if Game Changer: Home Edition will be made available to purchase outside the Kickstarter at a later date, though don’t expect to see it on store shelves anytime soon. The Kickstarter FAQ says it “will not be available for wholesale at this time.”

Expect to hear more details about Game Changer: Home Edition and its campaign rewards once the Kickstarter launches on May 5.
