Good news for Hyrule lorehounds
We may not have a new Zelda game for Nintendo Switch 2 yet, but fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be eating good come fall. Dark Horse, the publisher behind several stellar Zelda reference books like 2013’s Hyrule Historia, will expand that collection on Oct. 20 with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Secrets of the Zonai.
According to Dark Horse, this 472-page hardcover book will include:
- 50 pages of beautiful illustrations, character art, and promotional images
- Nearly 300 pages of behind-the-scenes sketches, notes, rough designs, concept art, and recollections that provide an exclusive look at the development and creation of the game
- Over 80 pages of Hyrule’s history that include insights into the mysterious past of the Zonai all the way up to the events of the game
- Interviews with producer Eiji Aonuma, director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and art director Satoru Takizawa
Secrets of the Zonai will be available in two editions. The Standard Edition hardcover will have an MSRP of $59.99 and include all the juicy, behind-the-scenes info detailed above. The deluxe Hero’s Edition will be priced at $119.99 and includes the book (with an exclusive cover), a cloth map of the Depths, an art print of Link and the Sages, and a replica of Zelda’s Secret Stone.
Both editions of Secrets of the Zonai are available to pre-order now at Dark Horse ahead of their October release.
