Apple discontinues Mac Pro: No future models planned



Apple has officially pulled the plug on the Mac Pro. The company confirmed to 9to5Mac that the desktop powerhouse has been discontinued, with no plans for a successor.

The move doesn’t come as a surprise. The last refresh arrived in June 2023, when Apple introduced an M2 Ultra-powered Mac Pro to replace the long-running Intel-based model from 2019.

With the Mac Pro now out of the picture, the Mac Studio is set to take over as Apple’s top-tier desktop for power users. Apple updated the Mac Studio last year with M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips, along with Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, delivering performance that already rivalled – and in some cases surpassed – the Mac Pro in a more compact form factor.
