So many heritage dishes under one roof… I was honestly SO excited walking in 🤩 @Food Republic Singapore at Mandai Wildlife Reserve feels like stepping straight into a 1970s street scene. Think 3-storey shophouse facades, old-school signboards, and nostalgic setups like durian and tau huey carts — a full immersive throwback, but with aircon and everything in one place. What I love most is seeing so many heritage hawker brands gathered here. Boon Tat BBQ Seafood, which started as a pushcart in 1985, still grills their sambal stingray the traditional way — banana leaf, smoky, juicy, packed with flavour. Nya Nya Nonya Laksa carries a 3-generation Peranakan legacy, with a rich yet balanced, aromatic laksa that’s not too lemak. We also tried Guan Chee Roast, Hong Xing Fishball Noodles, Bagus Kitchen Nasi Lemak, and Weld Quay Ban Mee.
