SINGAPORE – The director and store manager of a shop in Yishun that sells mobility devices are set to be charged on March 19 over allegedly providing illegal modification services.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a statement on March 18 that they each face one count of illegally modifying a personal mobility device (PMD) by fitting an extra battery to the device.
The shop – YY E-Bike – was allegedly found to have illegally modified a PMD as part of its business operations during an enforcement operation by LTA on Oct 29, 2025. The alteration made the PMD non-compliant for use on public paths, investigations later showed.
