@matinmunches

Pasir Ris is having a Ramadan Bazaar, till 19th March, and we went down to check out what’s good there! Beef Rendang & Sambal Sotong takoyaki (Tako Cartel) Takoyaki stuffed with rendang & sambal sotong – I felt like the sambal sotong was lacking in overall flavour (would’ve loved way more sambal) but I really enjoyed the Beef Rendang – really bright lemongrass flavour profile! Creamy Onion Loaded Hotdog (Kream SG) – A standard chicken frank topped with sukiyaki beef strips, & a generous dose of creamy onion sauce. Flavourwise it reminded me of Aunty Anne’s sour cream & onion pretzel – that tangy & creamy tartness. Quesillo (Quesillo Concepts) – A more true to form take on a Venezuelan quesillo, more of a light and aerated custard without that off putting eggy aftertaste. Wasn’t too sweet either! Nasi Ayam Bakar & Kway Teow Goreng (Pak Din) – A Geylang staple – juicy grilled chicken, accompanied by their iconic yellow rice – with sambal merah, sambal ijo & chili kicap served alongside. Their kway Teow kerang was an unexpected hit as well – garlicky, spicy, with a nice kicap base. The cockles imparted good seafood pops of flavour every few bites. Overall, even though it’s a more quaint pasar malam, it still has a good variety of stalls. Thank you again for the invite! @TLK Events and Lighting #fypsg #sgfoodreview #halalsg #munchingwithmatin
