The Gathering sent Olympic gold medalist Amber Glenn a $300 super-rare card bundle

The Gathering sent Olympic gold medalist Amber Glenn a 0 super-rare card bundle

The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina may be over, but gold medal figure skater Amber Glenn’s widely publicized love for Magic: The Gathering continues. Footage circulated online showing Glenn opening packs of Magic cards at the Olympics closing ceremonies, specifically Lorwyn Eclipsed collector booster packs currently valued at about $35.14 each. The showcase Bloom Tender she pulled on Feb. 22, however, likely pales in comparison to some of the cards she received on March 1.

In a post to her Instagram story Sunday, Glenn revealed that Wizards of the Coast sent her a large box full of Magic products from recent years. “As many of you know, I posted some Magic: The Gathering content from the Olympics,” Glenn says in the video, noting that she bought alI of those packs herself. “I have spent an outrageous amount of money on cardboard over the years.” (To her credit, every time we see Glenn ripping packs — sometimes with fellow skater Alyssa Liu — it’s always a collector booster, which is far more expensive than a play booster.)

Glenn also introduced her dog Uki in the video and explained he’s named after the Magic card Ukkima, Stalking Shadow (a detail she included in her official Team USA profile for the Olympics). Then, she revealed a large box containing an assortment of commander decks, a Spider-Man gift bundle, a TMNT Pizza Bundle, Lorwyn Eclipsed booster boxes, and some Secret Lair drops — all with her framed Olympic gold medal sitting in the background. Perhaps the most exciting item of them all is a Phyrexia: All Will Be One Compleat Bundle which has a market price of $308.28 and is listed on Amazon for $400. “You can’t find these anymore,” she said as she held the box up to the camera.

Why does it fetch such a high price point? Each contains 12 booster packs — a little less than half of what you’d get in a typical booster box. There’s also 40 foil basic lands that are Phyrexian-themed and a foil Phyrexian Arena promo card. The real draw, however, is the Compleat Edition Booster pack that contains two “oil slick raised” foil versions of mythic rares from the set. And yes, other than buying these particular variants directly, this is the only product they appear in. The main set contains 20 mythic rares, with the most expensive and arguably best card being Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. The Compleat version is currently worth $129. The Compleat version of Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is currently worth around $174.

Glenn ends the video thanking Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro before doing a quick pan across the haul, which includes every commander deck from The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth, Duskmourn: House of Horror, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Lorwyn Eclipsed, along with a collector’s edition of the Final Fantasy Limit Break deck thrown in for good measure for a total of 12 commander decks. There’s also a Modern Horizons 3 play booster box. Altogether, we’re probably looking at upwards of $2,000 in cardboard here, but there could be even more valuable there depending on what cards she gets.

Amber, show us the pulls!
