Battlefield 6 developers are considering making a change to the way that weapon bloom works. Battlefield 6 players are currently exploring everything the game has to offer, and some have brought up an issue with how shots are registered, and now a developer has touched on the problem.
Weapon bloom is something that’s been a part of the Battlefield series since Battlefield 3. Weapon bloom impacts gameplay in Battlefield by introducing accuracy spread that increases as a player is shooting, making it harder to land shots the longer a player continuously fires. But in Battlefield 6, players have found it doesn’t behave correctly, or seems to be having too strong an impact on shots.
Battlefield 6 Devs Respond to Bloom Concerns
On Twitter, streamer TacticalBrit shared a video demonstrating bloom in Battlefield 6, highlighting an apparent bug with the bullet spread. After successfully taking down a few distant enemies, a shot at an opponent that looked like it should have connected perfectly didn’t. TacticalBrit believes the issue is due to bloom not resetting between shots correctly. Principal Game Designer Florian Le Bihan responded to the tweet, stating that while a prior beta bug with bloom had been identified and fixed, the developer has discovered two new bugs impacting dispersion. Further, the dev is looking into fine-tuning how bloom and bullet dispersion works.
According to Florian, the developer is currently working on the identified Battlefield 6 bloom bugs, but he didn’t provide any kind of estimate as to when a fix might be pushed through. Another clip shared by Florian highlighted a related issue, where blood splatters appear while shooting an enemy, indicating the player’s shots have successfully hit their target, but no damage is actually dealt. The developers are actively seeking feedback on this particular instance of shots not being registered correctly, so players who have experienced it may want to share their input.
So far, Battlefield 6 has received positive reviews from players and critics, though there’s still room for improvement. If Battlefield 6 has any chance of reaching the 100 million player count that it’s seeking, identifying and fixing issues like these as soon as possible will be necessary. So far, the developer has pleased fans by providing quickly fixes for issues like not being able to login with the EA App, and offering compensation for those impacted. With any luck, this bloom issue will be fixed soon, as it can have a major impact on a player’s success in any and all matches they play.
