Bugs and The Sims 4 are almost synonymous with each other at this point — it’s par for the course for a game that’s been around over a decade and received countless updates and DLC. A new EA announcement shows what 2026 has in store for an ongoing Sims 4 bug-fixing plan, laying out improvements planned for throughout the year. Arguably one of the most noteworthy changes on the list involves Sim autonomy, with an incoming fix designed to help Sims make better — and less annoying — choices.
The Sims 4 team has recently begun a concerted effort to address player concerns, introducing a quality of life roadmap last September. Developers turned to the bug report section of the EA forums and asked the community for their help in tackling the most pressing issues that needed fixing within the game. An update last November addressed over 150 bugs chosen by the community, which did make considerable improvements, though The Sims 4 is still a long way from running flawlessly.
