Anwar hosts reception for Singapore PM Wong, discusses efforts to strengthen ties

“Prime Minister Lawrence and I continued this historical narrative during a meeting that lasted nearly three hours. We had the opportunity to tour the premises and listen to an explanation of Seri Negara’s history and the conservation work being carried out through the Warisan Kuala Lumpur initiative.

“We then broke our fast together before continuing with a private, one-to-one meeting over dinner, where we discussed efforts to further strengthen Malaysia–Singapore friendship and to deepen co-operation in resolving outstanding issues involving both friendly nations,” Anwar said in his post.

He also said he appreciated Wong’s visit, which was a manifestation of the friendship between Malaysia and Singapore.

“May this meeting, and the blessings of Ramadan, continue to nurture mutual understanding and bring lasting prosperity to the people of Malaysia and Singapore,” he said.
