Highlights from February’s PlayStation State of Play

Sony held its first PlayStation State of Play this year, and as the PS5 enters its sixth year in the market, there’s no doubt that Sony is looking to keep the console’s catalogue as fresh as possible. This includes new reveals on some previously-released titles, and word on some new titles to look forward to, including remakes of some old Sony favourites.

In case you missed it, here’s some of the highlights from the show.

A God of War trilogy remake and a John Wick game

Perhaps the biggest news coming from the State of Play is the God of War Greek trilogy remake (that’s the first three games of the series). Unfortunately, that it’s being worked on is all we get to know, with no indications of a release date or window.

The trailer is certainly light on information. But hey, at least TC Carson, Kratos’s original voice actor, gets to present the news to you.

It does, however, come alongside the release of Sons of Sparta, which forms a bit of a departure from the series – a 2D platformer that follows Kratos and Deimos in their youth.

Despite the premise, Sons of Sparta’s story is only single-player, with a co-op challenge mode being unlocked afterwards. Unlike the God of War remake, though, it’s available for purchase now.
