Following a collision between a car, a truck, and two cement mixer trucks on Jan. 6, the car driver was taken to the hospital and later arrested. In response to Mothership’s queries, the police said that they were alerted to the accident along 14 Seletar North Link at 8:10am that day. The car driver, a 27-year-old man, was conveyed conscious to the hospital. He was subsequently arrested for rash or negligent conduct related to machinery and fraudulent possession of property. A vape was also seized, and the vape-related offence has been referred to the Health Sciences Authority, the police added. Investigations are ongoing. Based on photos of the accident shared on Xiaohongshu, it appears to have happened near a construction site. In the aftermath, a black car was stuck between a truck and a cement mixer truck, with its rear end badly dented and rammed up against the former truck. According to Shin Min Daily News, the authorities stopped the car at Seletar South Link for a check, but the driver refused to stop his car. Instead, he drove about 2km to 14 Seletar North Link and finally stopped after the collision. This was echoed by the Xiaohongshu user who posted the photos, who said that several police officers had chased the black car before the crash happened. Afterwards, the driver allegedly got out of the car and fled. He did not run for long before he surrendered, possibly due to a leg injury, and was caught by the police. Workers at the scene told Shin Min that there were at least 15 plainclothes and uniformed police officers, who stuck around for four hours to investigate the incident. A construction worker had minor leg injuries as a result of the accident, Shin Min reported. A witness shared that the worker happened to be cleaning the cement mixer truck when the black car suddenly sped towards him, and he could not avoid it in time. Photos show the worker receiving medical treatment in an ambulance after the accident. Top image from é¹é¹/Xiaohongshu
