Lalu’s grandson joins Singapore military training programme

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s grandson, Aditya, has begun his mandatory two-year basic military training in Singapore. The news was shared by his mother Rohini Acharya on X, where she expressed pride in her son’s decision and described him as “fearless, disciplined and determined”. Basic military training is mandatory in Singapore.

Acharya said in the social media post that Aditya, her eldest child, departed for Singapore shortly after completing his pre-university education to begin the BMT, at the age of 18. She said the moment was deeply emotional for the family, adding that strength and character are shaped through life’s most demanding challenges.

“Today my heart is filled with pride, today after completing his pre-university studies at the age of 18, our eldest son Aditya has gone for 2 years of Basic Military Training… Aditya… you are brave, courageous and disciplined, go and show what you’re made of, always remember that warriors are forged in the toughest battles of life… All our love and encouragement is always with you,” she wrote.

Acharya has been living in Singapore for many years with her husband Samaresh Singh.

LALU YADAV’S GRANDSON HAS NOT JOINED THE SINGAPORE ARMED FORCES

It must be noted that Aditya’s enrolment in Basic Military Training is not voluntary military service. By joining the programme, he is fulfilling Singapore’s legally mandated National Service (NS), which requires all male citizens and second-generation permanent residents to undergo two years of full-time service once they reach adulthood.
